Off The Tracks

It's Sunday afternoon and I am off the tracks. Ever since getting a motorcycle this past summer I have enjoyed taking quick trips off the tracks of life. After a great worship service and dinner on the grounds today I wanted to take in this beautiful Lord's Day. So I took my bike to places I might not go in my van. I found some old trails off the other side of the tracks in Galt mills in Amherst County along the side of the James River. It is beautiful. Just a few minutes ago I was riding my road bike through a field of tall grass as high as the motorcycle and thought I should turn back since I can't see where I am going. Now I am beside the raliroad tracks to my left and the James river flowing peacfully to my right. The sun is beating down on me in shorts and t-shirt and it is so relaxing here. Large hawks are flying above and the only engine I can here is a distant jet out of sight. I can hear some folks yelling in the distance once in awhile, but for the most part I am off the tracks of life and enjoying Him and His creation. What a mighty God I serve. The electic poles running along side the tracks look like they are at least 60 years old. Everything is still lush green with fall around the corner. This is the freedom I appreciate about America. Freedom to come and go, worship and work and speak about faith freely without intimidation of the government. Thank God for America and restful days like this to regroup and refresh so that I can to continue to live for a great and awesome God throughout the week. Peace to You. Pastor Peter
